The soil under docks is often wet or compressed from heavy
use. As a result, the concrete panels on the top of such
soils become uneven. Uneven concrete panels get damaged
very quickly necessitating early replacement. Apart from
being wasteful of port infrastructure, in a busy port, the
process of concrete slab replacement can hinder operations
and slow productivity.
The Uretek Method of slab re-levelling ensures that concrete
slabs are re-levelled promptly and permanently. Uretek uses
laser levelling to ensure that slabs are perfectly matched
- and perfectly supported. Pavements are then able to deliver
their full service life.
A set of four slabs usually takes less than a day to re-level.
Port operations can continue around our operations team,
and the work area can be used as soon as we have left.
Fill Voids.
Uretek's void fillers are used to close off
unwanted spaces, fill disused pipes and culverts, preserve
historic areas for future generations, exclude vermin and
to replace washed out fines in seawalls, such as in this seawall
at Townsville, Queensland.
During this job:
o Significant quantities of fines washed out of rock retaining
wall
o Uretek injected 210m3 material to restore strength to the
rock wall
o Port & Shed remained fully operational with no delays logged
to Uretek
Using Uretek, you can keep your port
operating 24/7.
We are adept
at re-leveling crane rails and hard stand areas, even in
very poor soils.
And we can do
this work while your operations continue around us.
Strengthen
Wet Soils.
Because ports are usually constructed in wet marine environments,
they experience ongoing problems with soils which are naturally
weak and which do not support the structures on their surface.
Uretek has a number of solutions to remedy this problem. From
pre-compacting ground in a Greenfield project to re-supporting
a structure at a single location, Uretek can be the solution
which puts your project back on track in fast time!
